my gloomy head

After watching Speaking in Code - a documentary about electronic music by Amy Grill or the Xth time yesterday I realized that I am in love with one scene, when the Wignomy Borthers drove up the hills around Jena, their home town, which coincidently is my home town too. And of course seeing the town wearing it's winter coat surrounded by that by a cold dusk made me a bit sentimental, but what ultimately made me fell in love with the scene is this :

the melody in there is extremely touching. When the melody enters the arrangement and you get goosebumps and don't know if you wanna scream or cry out of happyness , you realize you're an techno-addict and that's exactly YOUR kinda shit. It's moments like that , that make me understand no matter how fake the social environment of the technoscene might or might not be in the end it's all about the love to the music and when people honestly share that, who gives a fuck  if they only meet that night on the dark sometimes dirty dancefloor smile at each other knowing that they feel the same, being taken away from the music, resolving the every-day-worries in a beat, a bass line or in my case that melody-hook.

sunday morning 8:30AM

I am writing this entry for the second time now, because I hit the "Clear Content"-Button and before I started the understand what it exactly was , that I have done, I felt like a complete moron. I started in the first post like this :

I am shivering , because the last breath of winter struck me down, so I am sitting here in the bed with some kind of cold , the upside of that and the reason I am mentioning this is, for the first time in months I am upon a Sunday morning on a reasonable hour. So yes I enjoy the fact it's just 9:00AM . When I typed the first post in was 8:30 , so let's go with 8:30, and what does one do at 8:30AM freshly woken up from some kind of cough-interrupted dream about brand-sliders and jquery-carousels ? Yes, one ,in this case me is fighting with the blanket , being astonished about the fact that i shiver really strangely when exposed to the room temperature , but mainly browsing down the posts on Facebook, and thankfully Ghostly International posted a link to a band called "School of the Seven Bells" their album is called "Disconnect From Desire" and since I am a fan of the warmth and cold of the ghostly International harmonies and the electronic fractals, I am ignoring the fact that this music is almost pop music, because it's really beautiful. And made my Sunday morning.

School of Seven Bells - "Half Asleep"

School of Seven Bells - Windstorm [Official Video]

School Of Seven Bells - 'My Cabal'

Here is the initial link I found on facebook, it's a Free EP

Everyone starts from point one

I love those kind of vocals that drill inside your mind like a repetitive  chant, and I love them even more when I can relate to them, those simple truths that are even kind of cheezy, but set over a good bass line or rhythm it's just enlightening [if you wanna be theatrical on a Friday afternoon].

Shackleton - Deadman

what goes up must come down

A friend of mine showed that one to me tonight and I was really impressed not only by the idea and the music , but also by the amazing images of Adam Smith, a great movie. I hope it will be as entertaining for you as it was for me.

Night flower

slept 9 hours for the first time in 3 days , it came to a point where sleep is like being on vacation in a resort, where you really don't see anything of a foreign country you just chill and relax. So I was in this coushiony refreshing place woke up and felt like this.

The track came out last year on Pampa records [Koze's own label]

I'm gonna get you

I am still a little twisted about a woman's voice telling me something about her cock, but the track is a deep mover with something i would call a disco attitude.

from the 909 driven detroit sound of steffi to something different but alike

I love the Maschines of Roland, if other boys might dream of hot babes in naughty position i dream of truning the knobs of those excellent nowadays vintage drum maschines.
The Rims and the claps of those thing are a unique element in most house, hiphop and techno productions since the 80's and even in something like that !
Here the talking heads:

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense - PsychoKiller

And here a little edit I recently got shown by a friend!

Disco Deviance - gotta tape i wanna play (gw edit)

Enjoy a classic drum maschine at it's best!

number three

Sitting in my kitchen with a lot on my plate, I decided to get distracted for a couple more minutes and write a small entry in this thing here. Since I am pretty much an insomniac days fade into nights and the other way around i was looking for something to describe that feeling and what is better as a Detroit-oriented Club album by Steffi named "Yours & Mine" released on ostgut ton

Steffi - yours ft.

second notice

A great fusion of dub and contemporary electronic music, with a really nice message, there is no only something to listen to but also to think about! This single has been released on  shitatapult . And was done for this remix album.

some clearance before i start

This blog is not about mocking, I will take the opportunity and post some music I believe is relevant or at least was or is still relevant to me and make a necessary or unnecessary comment or addition now and then to a postings of , once in a while i will also tell some story from behind the scenes. To cut this short I'll post some music , I stumbled on or did get recommented from friends.

This is a track of Gold Panda's - "Lucky Shiner" album released in 2010 on Ghostly International.

This is the first of two tracks from last year , I'd like to share the other one is Four tet's - She just likes to fight from the album "There is Love in You" released on Domino.

And of we go into the new year:

Very recently Isolee released a new album called "Youth well spent" on Pampa records .

I like the video and I also think the new album is a bit of a game changer in electronic music, since the music , takes the ideas of IDM to a different level, where the audience is not even the focus of education but of distraction and confusion.
